I am back in the Museum after a great week teaching a course in London as part of the Bloomsbury Summer School (http://www.egyptology-uk.com/bloomsbury), which included classes at the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology, UCL, and The British Museum.

There are a number of Egypt related events on the horizon in Manchester. The Pharmacy and Medicine in ancient Egypt conference (http://www.knhcentre.manchester.ac.uk/newsandevents/pharmacyconference/), hosted by the KNH-Centre for Biomedical Egyptology, will be taking place at the University of Manchester on the 1-3 September, with a reception at the Museum. From September 20th – 30th November there will be an exhibition on the third floor of the Museum called Birth Rites (http://www.museum.manchester.ac.uk/whatson/exhibitions/birth%20rites/), which will include a number of objects from ancient Egypt.
