Carnelian ear-ring from Gurob, New Kingdom

Carnelian ear-ring from Gurob, New Kingdom

This last week has been spent packing and sorting predynastic pottery, and writing up conference papers for delivery or publication. The KNH-Centre for Biomedical and Forensic Egyptology, University of Manchester, is hosting the Pharmacy and Medicine in ancient Egypt conference next week, 1-3 September, with a reception at the Museum on Monday evening (http://www.knhcentre.manchester.ac.uk/newsandevents/pharmacyconference/). The following weekend, I will be attending the CIPEG (Comité international pour l’égyptologie) conference in Hannover and Hildesheim (http://icom.museum/calendar2.html) to give a paper on the Ancient Egypt and Archaeology gallery redevelopment project at the Manchester Museum. The next trip, in mid-September, is to collect some objects, including the carnelian ear-ring from Gurob, pictured, loaned to the exhibition, Reines D’Egypte, held at the Grimaldi Forum, Monaco (http://www.grimaldiforum.com/fre/culturel/expo_info.aspx?ID=28).
