Egyptian Mummies and the Manchester Museum.

I carried out my ICP placement at the Manchester Museum and in that time I have been involved in working with the extensive Egyptian collection doing a range of interesting and sometimes challenging tasks. One of my main responsibilities has been to create a bibliography for the mummies at Manchester, this bibliography includes references to scientific studies and their results including X-rays and CT scanning it also includes references made to their display and what they can tell us about life and death in Ancient Egypt. The bibliography will be added to the Museums online catalogue and this will allow interested researchers to look at the work and findings already conducted and also aim to improve public knowledge and access for all who may be interested. The compiling of the bibliography involved reading into some of the more well known scientific studies in Egyptology…
